You can now access your MYLMU Connect courses on your phone. The power is in your hands. Learn how in this video:
We heard you, loud and clear, LMU! In our 2012 survey, staff, students, and faculty alike requested greater wireless access on campus—and we listened.
Over the summer, ITS added over 400 new wireless access points in targeted locations. Look for a better connection in University Hall and St. Robert’s Hall, and a number of conference and meeting rooms across campus. Leavey 6, Hannon, Rains, Huesman, Sullivan, and Doheny apartments also received upgrades.
We’ll also continue to add coverage throughout the school year.
Members of the LMU Community,
Welcome to the 2013-2014 academic year. We in Information Technology Services hope that the upcoming year is filled with rich educational experiences enhanced by the technology at LMU. It’s been a busy summer, and we’d like to take a few minutes to give you an update on the new and upgraded services now available to you.
Go Mobile with MYLMU Connect
First of all, through the iLMU Mobile Application (available through the various app stores), you can now access MYLMU Connect on your mobile device. This is an exciting service that makes course material even more available and accessible. We hope you enjoy this new feature.
Classroom Capture Expanded
Classroom capture is now available in 60 rooms across campus. This technology allows for LMU’s faculty to capture video and audio of their class sessions, including supporting material such as PowerPoint, and making the videos available through MYLMU Connect for reference throughout the semester.
Upgraded Computer Labs
Many of the computer labs across campus were upgraded, including the Information Commons in the William H. Hannon Library. Did you know that you can check the status of the computer labs across campus to see if any computing environments are available to you?
The Network Services team was busy over the summer completing a major upgrade of the network. You will have a much-improved wired and wireless experience when on LMU’s network. In St. Robert’s and in University Hall, we have moved to a standard of one access point per classroom. Several of the residence halls were upgraded to provide a better experience as well. Watch this space for more news on that, soon.

Vice President for Information Technology Services
While students and faculty were away, resting and recouping for a stellar 2013-14 Academic Year, the LMU Information Technology Services team has been working hard to bring you a more user-friendly, more up-to-date, and just plain better website. Sounds easy, right? But not when you consider that in May, ITS had FIVE separate websites. Now, there is only ONE. That’s right, no more going to the website and being shuttled over to MyLMU to find your answer. It’s all here, and it’s all easier to find!
Take a spin around the site and let us know what you think. We’d love to hear our users’ opinions. In fact, one of our goals is to keep in better touch this year. Watch this space (and our Twitter account!) for more information on ITS events, alerts, videos, and deeper dives into information technology topics that are important to you (or maybe that you didn’t even know were important!).
